Day 1: Arrive ORT International Airport (Johannesburg) and connect on a flight to King Shaka Airport (Durban). On arrival in Durban you will collect your Avis car hire and drive 15 minutes to The Oyster Box Boutique Hotel 5* Umhlanga Rocks for 2 nights. Perfectly situated on the ocean’s edge, a brief 5 minutes walk from Umhlanga Village Centre, the Oyster Box Hotel is conveniently located for quick and easy access to Durban city centre, International Airports and numerous stylish shopping centres…yet has a feeling of classical charm and elegance like nowhere else on earth. Day 2: The Oyster Box Boutique Hotel 5* Umhlanga Rocks

Day 3: Depart Umhlanga Rocks and drive 2-3 hours to the Drakensberg Mountains area of Kwazulu Natal to Cleopatra’s Mountain Farmhouse 5* for 2 nights.. Cleopatra is the ultimate in peace, tranquillity and solitude. Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse has earned global renown as a romantic gourmet getaway. (FB)

Day 4: Cleopatra’s Mountain Farmhouse 5*

Day 5: Depart Cleopatra’s Mountain Farmhouse 5* and drive 3 – 4 hours to Fugitive’s Drift 5* Rorke’s Drift where you will stay for 2 nights. This is the Battlefield area of many a famous battle between the Boers and the British. Listen at sunset to the famous story of Rorke’s Drift, where 139 British soldiers were attacked by 4,000 Zulu warriors, winning more Victoria Crosses than in any other battle in history, returning to the Lodge or Guest House in time for a drink around the fireplace. The spectacular Fugitives' Drift property, a Natural Heritage Site, overlooks both Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, and includes the site where Lieutenants Melvill and Coghill lost their lives attempting to save the Queen's Colour of their regiment. Day 6: Fugitives Drift 5* Rorke’s Drift

Day 7: Depart Fugitive’s Drift 5* Rorke’s Drift and drive 2 – 3 hours to Phinda Private Game Reserve where you will stay at Vlei Lodge 5* for 2 nights. Fringing the Reserve’s unique vlei (wetland) system along the edge of the rare sand forest, the sophisticated Vlei Lodge is intimately integrated into the surrounding African bush. Gracious and elegant, this charming lodge comprises six thatched suites decorated in a subtle blend of North and West African styles, with hints of Balinese influences. Each suite, complete with luxurious ensuite bathroom, dressing room, private plunge pool and game viewing deck, overlooks the grassy vlei where guests can observe herds of grazing antelope, zebra and a dazzling variety of birdlife. Day 8: Vlei Lodge 5* Phinda Private Game Reserve.

Day 9: Depart Vlei Lodge 5* Phinda Private Game Reserve and drive 3 – 4 hours back to King Shaka Airport (Durban) where you will hand back your Avis rental car and board your flight for Cape Town. Arrive Cape Town International Airport and collect your Avis car hire and drive to the Cape Grace Hotel 5*for 4 nights, situated in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. The Cape Grace Hotel 5* is situated in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and is within walking distance to a host of activities from top restaurants, boutiques, Robben Island Ferry to the terminal for the Red double-decker Hop-on, Hop-off bus. Day 13: Depart Cape Grace Hotel 5* V&A Waterfront for Cape Town International Airport where you will drop off your Avis car hire and board your flight back home.
